Several Injured as In-Flight Disturbance Hits Delta Plane Arriving in Sydney

Multiple passengers and crew were hurt following a Delta Airlines aircraft from LA to Sydney was hit by rough air this past Friday.

Flight DL41 "encountered brief turbulence" as it landed at the Sydney airport, a company official informed. Several cabin crew members were injured.

Emergency medical services stated they assessed a total of five people, and transferred a trio to a medical facility with relatively minor issues that comprised spinal discomfort and headaches. The patients' ages were between their 30s up to the 70s.

It is the latest incident of planes encountering severe turbulence, with researchers indicating that climate change is a major factor.

On board were 245 passengers and a crew of 15 on the wide-body jet, the official said, stating that the plane landed "safely and normally" at the airport at shortly before 7 a.m. on the day in question.
