Two Detentions Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident resulted in the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
